At Bibury Church of England Primary School we encourage traditional values of care and consideration that help each child approach the challenges of modern life. We welcome children from all backgrounds and from villages and towns in the surrounding area.
We are very proud of our school and believe it is special... a school where children want to learn, have fun and feel safe doing so.
'A wonderful transition from Nursery to School'Reception Dad
Reception children may join us from the September following their 4th Birthday. Children planning to join us are invited to spend a morning in class during the Summer term before starting school. In September, children usually start on a part-time basis gradually building up to a full day over a two-week period. However, we are flexible around this, and quite happy to fit in with the needs of the individual child. Parents are encouraged to contact us to arrange a visit as early as possible. You do not have to live in the village to come to our school.
'I couldn't believe how quickly they learn to read'Reception Mum
All children in KS1 are given reading books from the Bug Club reading scheme to take home to read with parents. KS2 children can choose from the class library. This helps to reinforce work done in the classroom and builds up their sight vocabulary - helping your child become a fluent reader and fostering a love of reading.
'My daughter felt at home from day one!'Reception Mum
We open the school from 8am (school starts at 8.45am) for children to be supervised and we run an after school club called Bibury Oaks. This is open to all children for a small charge, from the school finish at 3.15pm to 4.15pm every day. These sessions are supervised by trained staff and offer a range of activities. The club is very popular with the children.
The school day starts at 8.45am and finishes at 3.15pm. Registration is from 8.45am to 8.50am. Children have a morning break from 10.30am to 10.45am. The children begin their lunchtime at 12.00pm and finish at 1.00pm. KS1 children have an afternoon playtime at 2pm to 2.15 pm.
Ready to move on to the next stage and prepared for all life's adventures
Children leave Bibury Church of England Primary School able, confident and ready to give their best at whichever school they move on to. Whether it is a Private school, Grammar school or one of the many local Secondary schools.
